Outline History of the Office
In 1980 J.M. Klessing started his office in Karlsruhe as professional architect, specialized in projects of historic and cultural concern. Various engagements for conservation and architectural rehabilitation projects alternated for the next 25 years in archaeological sites in Germany and abroad in Mediterranean countries and Middle East like Yemen. In 2006 a new branch office was established in Berlin with the task of the restoration planning for the ‘Antikensammlung’ (Collection of Antiquities) located at the Pergamon Museum, which is still a focal point of our professional activities. In addition, many engagements for different projects for conception and implementation of archaeological park design and site management in Mediterranean countries took in turns like in Greece, Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, and Tunisia. It accounts a lot of our fund of professional experience and the core of our actual staff developed during these phases. Since 2017 A. Hoffschildt took position as equal partner in the newly registered ‘Klessing Hoffschildt Architekten GbR’.
