Planning of Restoration Measures

The exhibition of the Collection of Antiquities spread over the three central halls: The hall of Hellenistic architecture, the hall of the Altar of Pergamon and the Hall of Milet. Guiding principal of the complete repairs is the preservation resp. the restoring of the original exhibition concept from 1930. For the handling of war damages, curatorial intended changes of the exhibition as well as for previous restorations conclusive solutions regarding the preservation of the historic monuments need to be developed.

Restoration measures are planned respecting contemporary standards. Therefore, methods and strategies are being developed based on our experience and revised by sample restorations. The implementation of those measures by restorers are strictly supervised by our construction supervising team.
