Conception of Presentation and Utilization
Dr. G. Rupprecht, S.Fleig

Our first concept ideas in 2004 had been composed of different approaches dealing with parts of reconstruction or with three dimensional elements of modern lightweight construction to implement the imagery of the huge volume of the former theatre building in comparison with the actual urban situation. A second more comprehensive attempt to create a favorable and realistic concept in 2010 led to detailed proposals for different kinds of official public requirements even for a catalog of methodological conservation of the remaining foundation relics. Therefore, the utilization of the former Prima Cavea and Pulpitum by incorporating a reconstruction of a modern grandstand analogous to the antic shape was played through. It was also required to establish practical infrastructures for visitors and residents in the surrounding urban environment, as the Citadel and the adjacent railway station, which could be connected to the new museums and give access to the RGZM and Roman Shipping Hall. A transparent noise barrier between the small modern theatre-reconstruction and the train platform protects the visitors from the noise of the train traffic.
