The Hellenistic city of Priene was founded in current west turkey. Excavations, first lead by the museums of Berlin starting in 1895 and later by the DAI Istanbul, uncovered the whole city complex. The long-dated exposure leads to a proceeding decay. In addition, there are deficits considering the preservation of the ruins and an up to date presentation as well.

Based on a general study for development of the archeological park, prepared in 2012, first model restoration projects where implemented in the following years.
